I'm not sure what happened with this entry, but it has been deleted somehow. So ... I'll re-create it as soon as I can reference my notes from that session.

Clinic on 10/16

Today, I watched a hearing aid adjustment. The client was an elderly gentleman who was very pleased with the sound quality of his aids. The clinician made only slight adjustments.

The client was not pleased, however, with the fit of one of his aids, so the clinician took another impression. Overall, the client was very excited about his new hearing aids, and he was enthusiastic to get his new earmold back.

Clinic on 10/2

On Monday, I observed a hearing aid fitting with an elderly gentleman. He had previously owned a hearing aid; however, he was no longer wearing it because his hearing had changed since he was first fitted and also because his hearing aids hurt his ears. Additionally, his hearing aid was an analog behind-the-ear hearing aid, and he wanted to have a hearing aid that was more current.
Truthfully, the majority of hearing aid evaluations and fittings that I have seen previously (during undergraduate and this year) have not been very positive. In contrast, this fitting was very positive and exciting! The client was fitted with an in-the-ear digital hearing aid, and he was so happy with the size, fit, and sound of his new hearing aids! It was wonderful to see a client who was so pleased!
